Last week we got a nasty gram from our
HOA because we hadn't stained the inside of our backyard fence in the
allotted amount of time. Mike had purchased the stain about a month ago, so he geared up to do the project Saturday after work. He popped open the 5 gallon of stain to find that they mixed the color incorrectly. It was a blueish grey instead of a brownish color.
Grrr... it was 2:30 and
Kwal closed at 3:00 for the weekend. He had also purchased the stain while running errands with his dad and was about an hour from our home. Of course, you have to return it to the same
Kwal so Mike had to get up early this morning and drive out there to return it, then drive to a closer store in Parker to purchase it again, since the store mixed it right according to their book. So Mike has to stain the fence today so we don't get a a fine. No big deal except....
Aubrey woke up with the flu at 9pm last night. It was really icky! She was shaking and scared and covered in all sorts of treasures. My mommy power kicked in and I stripped her clothes off and held her for about a half hour. She wouldn't get in the bath even though her hair was matted, so I jumped in the bath, as I was soaked too, and Aubrey joined me. Only a mommy would take a bath with her daughter with chunks of yuck floating around!
Ewww. (I also took a shower afterward to get the bath off of me). Aubrey threw up twice ore last night and seems a little better today although she is running a low grade fever. No big deal except...
My grandma and aunt are on a flight
right now to come see us! My grandma was very sick the last few weeks and the last thing she needs is a relapse. Thankfully they are staying at a local hotel so hopefully they can avoid the majority of the germs. But here I am in pj's with a sick toddler, a newborn, and a hubby that absolutely has to stain the fence, and a house that could also use some tender loving care. SO... hopefully Aubrey is on the mend, Ainsley won't get sick, my grandma won't get sick, the fence will get stained, and the house will miraculously be picked up in the next few hours! Oh... and maybe I can get another shower too!
Don't worry, Ainsley's eyes are not red, nor is she under some evil spell. I am just too lazy to touch it up. Ainsley is 10 weeks old tomorrow and doing great. We had thought that she is much bigger than Aubrey was, but she is actually just taller. That explains why clothes fit differently. She is a great baby and so much fun. She loves to coo and gurgle and smile. She's really mellow too, falling asleep everywhere but her crib. Seriously, she fell asleep on an activity mat the other day and slept there for forty minutes, but you put her in her crib and she freaks out. She sleeps really well at night too. Regardless of when she eats at night she sleeps until 4am for her first feeding. Most nights that is 8 hours! I love this kid a bundle!
Aubrey recovered from the flu. Her appetite is still light, but I don't blame her. She had a lot of her favorite foods come up, so she is being pretty picky right now. She is also getting more and more language skills everyday. For instance, she threw her monkey into Ainsley's still wet bath tub today and I overreacted and told her not to put her Monkey in the tub. She looked down, all sullen like, and said in a small voice "bath time." She also has her own prayer language. When she sits at the table she folds her hands and bows her head and starts talking to the almighty. I'll have to ask God for the transcipt someday, but it is super cute. She also knows how to get her way. She will gather up shoes, hat, and cup and wait by the door to be let out. She also loves playing fetch, I mean catch! All in all, Life at the Heldt house is running smoothly... at least for today!!!

What a special day! The girls were presented with flowers during the dedication. There were two carnations, red and white, representing Mike and I and our roles in our daughters lives. The girls were given pink rose buds to represent their lives. Doug explained it very well, and like our wedding day, it is all kinda a blur, but we do have it on video at least! During the prayer, Aubrey folded her hands and bowed her head. 
I'm told she then gave Mike a kiss and was flirting with Kollette, who sings on the worship team with Mike, behind her. I heard that from a lot of people. Why were so many people looking during the prayer? We also selected life verses for each girl. 
For Aubrey, we chose Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." We picked this verse for Aubrey because she already has a lot of my (Rachel's) attributes which probably destines her for a life of battling anxiety and needing to be constantly reminded about praying and giving thanks in all things.
For Ainsley, we chose 1 Thess 5:16-18 "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." We picked this one for Ainsley, because she already has a very joyful temperment which we hope she keeps all the days of her life. I hope to hang these verses in their rooms in some way... right after I finish their Christmas stockings. All in all, it was great to have this done at a church we intend to be at for a long time. After leaving Orange County and Rock Harbor it didn't feel like that was ever going to happen again. Yay for Plum Creek Community Church.
That's right. today is my birthday. I had a party over the weekend to celebrate. It was so fun seeing my friends and getting new toys. Check out some of my booty (like treasure, not bottom)!
